The Macarena AI prompt and model
Macarena AI is made with Seedance 2.0 / 2.5 (you pick the tier) by ByteDance. The prompt behind it has 5 parts, and the timing is what makes or breaks it.
- Model
- Seedance 2.0 / 2.5 (you pick the tier)
- Mode
- Photo + motion reference to video
- Length
- 14 seconds, 9:16, 1:1 or 16:9
- Input
- 1 photo
- Who gets replaced The dancer in the reference clip becomes the person, group or pet in your photo.
- Motion reference A 14-second clip supplies every Macarena move in order, the rhythm, the still camera and the framing.
- Identity lock Face, hair, clothes, build and skin tone come from your photo and stay the same in every frame.
- Setting The whole clip stays in the panelled room or moves to a dance studio or a night-time promenade.
- Rules Feet on the ground, five fingers per hand, no logos, captions, watermark, cuts or lip sync.
Replace the dancer in the grey jumpsuit in Video 1 with the person from Image 1. Their face, hair, clothes, shoes, age, build…
Why it goes wrong when you do it yourself
- Without a motion reference, models invent a generic party dance and lose the exact order of the arm moves.
- The reference dancer's long legs and thin neck can leak into your body unless the prompt rules them out by name.
- Crossed arms and hands behind the head are where fingers merge and faces drift, so a tight face crop makes it worse.
- Each try costs model credits and several minutes, and the song still has to be lined up with the moves afterwards.

You alone, up to three adults together, or your pet. Full-body and facing the camera works best; the clothes in the photo are the ones you dance in.

What is the Macarena AI trend?
Updated · videosi is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, or with the owners of any trend, song, game or brand named on its pages.
The Macarena AI trend takes one of the most recognisable routines in pop and hands it to anyone with a photo. The person in the picture stands full-body in front of the camera and runs through the moves: arms out with palms down, palms up, hands to opposite shoulders, hands behind the head, hands on the hips, then a wiggle. The joke is the distance between a still photo, or someone who plainly cannot dance, and a flawless routine.
The AI versions build on an older habit. An anime AI dance posted in July 2023 already used the Macarena, and in December 2025 and January 2026 TikTok posts were presenting it as a filter that makes you and your friends better dancers. By March 2026 a fuzzy cartoon character doing the dance had reached about 7.3 million views, and in September and October 2026 CapCut templates spread widely. No single original creator is confirmed.
The song is "Macarena" by the Spanish duo Los del Río, first released in 1993. Its Bayside Boys remix spent 14 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1996, which is why the dance needs no explanation. As of November 2026 our trend tracking marks this AI wave as fading, though new posts, including Halloween versions, were still appearing in late October.
This page does the whole recipe for you. The moves, the timing and the song are built in, so you choose only the photo, the setting and the format. Your photo can show you alone, up to three adults, or a pet. Baby versions are popular in CapCut, but this page does not make them.
Macarena AI: shot by shot
- 0–5 s
The slow start
You stand with your hands in your pockets, swaying and bending your knees to the opening, as if waiting your turn.
- 5–7.5 s
Arms out
One arm, then the other, stretches forward; palms face down, then turn up.
- 7.5–9 s
Across the shoulders
Each hand crosses to the opposite shoulder, with a lean to the beat.
- 9–10.5 s
Behind the head
Hands go up behind your head, elbows wide, knees bent.
- 10.5–12 s
Hands on the hips
Hands drop across the body to the hips as you sway side to side.
- 12–13.5 s
The wiggle
Knees bend deep and you fold forward for the wiggle at the end of the routine.
- 13.5–14 s
The kick
You spring up with one arm high and one leg kicked out, and the clip ends.
Tips for a better result
Show your whole body
The clip is full-body from start to finish. A photo cropped at the waist leaves the model to invent your legs and shoes.
Keep your face clear and facing front
Your face is small in a full-body shot, so use even light and leave sunglasses and low hats off.
Stand apart in group photos
For two or three adults, choose a photo where everyone is fully visible and nobody overlaps.
Pets: one animal, whole body
A sharp photo of one pet on a plain background works best. Fur patterns carry over better than unusual body shapes.
Good to know before you make a Macarena AI video
- Baby and child versions are not available: do not upload photos of children, and only use photos of adults who have agreed.
- Your photo's background is not reused: the clip plays in one of the three settings. Your clothes and hair do come from the photo.
- Up to three people fit, and more people means smaller faces. Fast arm moves can blur a hand or make a face drift, so likeness is not guaranteed. This effect has not been test-rendered with every kind of photo, and pets vary the most.
- The song is already on the video, but there is no lip sync. A failed, timed-out or blocked render returns its credits automatically.
Macarena AI: questions
What is the Macarena AI trend and where did it come from?
The Macarena AI trend is a short clip in which a photo of a person, friends or a pet does the 1990s Macarena dance, and videosi makes a 14-second version from one photo. Filter posts were circulating on TikTok by December 2025 and January 2026. CapCut templates followed, with a large wave in September and October 2026. No single original creator is confirmed.
How do I make a Macarena AI video from a photo?
Upload one photo to videosi's Macarena AI page, pick the panelled room, dance studio or night out, choose a format and press Generate. You get a 14-second MP4 with the Macarena song on it and no watermark. Rendering takes several minutes, and the result is saved in My creations. You do not write a prompt.
Is there a Macarena AI generator or website?
Yes. videosi (videosi.io) is a web tool that makes the Macarena AI dance from one photo, with the moves and song built in. It works in a phone or computer browser with no app to install. A 14-second video on the Standard model at 720p is 12 credits, and an account's first video at that setting is 10.
What is the Macarena filter on TikTok, Instagram or CapCut called?
Names change often, so check inside each app: on TikTok we saw posts tagged Macarena Dance AI and Macarena challenge, and CapCut has Macarena templates. videosi is independent and not affiliated with TikTok, Instagram or CapCut. Its Macarena AI page is a separate web tool that returns a 14-second MP4 you can post anywhere.
What AI model and prompt make the Macarena AI dance?
videosi makes the Macarena AI dance with ByteDance's Seedance (Seedance 2.0 Mini by default; Fast, Pro and Seedance 2.5 Ultra are one click away), using a five-part prompt and a 14-second motion reference clip. A prompt alone rarely works, because models tend to invent a generic dance rather than the exact arm order. The full prompt is not published.
How much does a Macarena AI video cost, and is it free?
A 14-second Macarena AI video on videosi is not free: it costs 12 credits at Standard 720p, and an account's first video at that setting costs 10. There is no free generation or free trial. The smallest pack is $6.99 for 10 credits, credits never expire, and plans start at $29.90 a month. A failed render returns its credits.
Why doesn't my Macarena AI video look like me?
Likeness in videosi's Macarena AI video depends mostly on the photo: the 14-second clip is a full-body shot, so a small, dark, side-on or sunglasses photo gives the model too little of your face. Use a clear, front-facing full-body photo in even light. Faces and hands can still drift in fast moves, so likeness is not guaranteed.
Can I make the Macarena AI video with friends, family or my pet?
Yes, within limits: videosi's Macarena AI takes one photo, and that photo can show up to three adults or a pet. Everyone should be clearly visible; more people means smaller faces and less reliable likeness. Only use photos of adults who have agreed, never of children, celebrities or strangers. Pets stand on their hind legs and results vary more.
What does Macarena mean?
Macarena is a Spanish woman's name, linked to the Virgen de la Macarena in Seville, and the word now usually means the dance itself. On videosi, Macarena AI means the same 1990s arm routine performed by you from one photo, in a 14-second video. The chorus starts with the Spanish line "Dale a tu cuerpo alegría, Macarena".
What song is used in the Macarena AI trend?
The song is "Macarena" by the Spanish duo Los del Río, first released in 1993; its Bayside Boys remix spent 14 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1996. Our reference clip is tagged Macarena by Los Del Rio on TikTok, and videosi puts that 14-second section on the finished video.
Is the Macarena AI trend still trending?
As of November 2026 the Macarena AI trend is past its peak: our trend tracking marks it as fading on the videosi page, after CapCut baby-dance templates spread in September and October 2026. New posts were still appearing in late October, including Halloween versions. The song itself keeps returning, so the dance stays recognisable even as this wave cools.
Can I make the Macarena AI baby dance on videosi?
No. The viral CapCut Macarena clips of dancing babies are not part of videosi's Macarena AI page, which is for adults and pets: do not upload photos of children. The page makes a 14-second full-body dance from one photo of adults who have agreed, or of a pet, using the same song and arm routine.
Can I use my own background in the Macarena AI video?
Not directly: videosi's Macarena AI offers three settings, the panelled room, a dance studio and a night out, and your photo's own background is not reused. The clothes and hair in your photo do carry over. If the place matters, pick the closest of the three, and remember that all 14 seconds stay in that one setting.
