The Grease AI Dance prompt and model
Grease AI Dance is made with Seedance 2.0 / 2.5 (you pick the tier) by ByteDance. The prompt behind it has 5 parts, and the timing is what makes or breaks it.
- Model
- Seedance 2.0 / 2.5 (you pick the tier)
- Mode
- Photo + motion reference to video
- Length
- 15 seconds, 9:16, 1:1 or 16:9
- Input
- 1 photo
- Replace instruction The first line tells the model to swap the dancer in the clip for the person in your photo, because the model treats the clip as footage to edit.
- Identity lock Face, hair, clothes, shoes, age, build and skin tone, hands and arms included, all come from your photo.
- What stays The fairground, the Ferris wheel, the fixed camera, the timing and every move stay as they are in the clip.
- Key moves A short list of the moves in order keeps the arm rolls, the raised hands and the final back kick from dropping out.
- Rules Five fingers per hand, no logos, no text, no watermark; the render is silent and the sound is added afterwards.
Replace the blonde woman with big curls, a black leather jacket, shiny black leather trousers and red high heels in Video 1 with the person…
Why it goes wrong when you do it yourself
- If the clip is described as a mere motion reference, the model tends to keep the original dancer and borrow only small details from your photo.
- The blonde curls, leather and red heels leak through unless the prompt names them and rules them out.
- The step toward the lens at about second 2 is where a face drifts, because it grows quickly in the frame.
- Raised hands and the back kick are where extra fingers and bent legs appear, and each try costs credits and several minutes.

How to make your Grease AI Dance video
Upload one photo
A full-body photo works best, face to the camera, in even light. Your hair and clothes in the photo are what you dance in.
Pick the model and format
Choose the model and resolution, then 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, 1:1 for a square post, or 16:9 for a wide cut.
Generate and download
Press Generate and the 15-second dance is rendered as an MP4 with the reference clip's sound and no watermark.
Post it, and check the sound
Label it as AI when you post. If the app mutes or flags the audio, swap in a licensed version of the song from its own library.
What is the Grease AI Dance trend?
Updated · videosi is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, or with the owners of any trend, song, game or brand named on its pages.
The Grease AI dance is a short AI video built on one idea: take a still photo of someone and make them dance as if they were in the finale of Grease, the 1978 musical film with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. In the most-watched version we found, a woman in black leather and red heels dances alone on a fairground road at dusk, with a Ferris wheel and carousel behind her. Nobody in these clips is really dancing. The motion is generated.
AI clips of this kind are on TikTok from at least March 2026. The most-watched one we could find under the name, about 439,000 views when we checked on 31 October 2026, was posted on 1 April 2026 and captioned "We Go Together - Grease AI Dance" with a CapCut template. Nobody has confirmed who started it. A new wave of template posts appeared on 25 to 28 October 2026, close to Halloween, and our radar picked up the term on 30 October, so treat it as just starting to spread again rather than a settled trend.
Most of these posts promote a CapCut template, and many add the Sandy look: leather, big curls, red heels. Sounds vary between posts. Some use "We Go Together", others "You're the One That I Want" or "Summer Nights". Real Sandy and Danny costume dances also circulate at Halloween, but those are filmed, not AI.
This page keeps the dance and the fairground and puts you in it, in your own hair and clothes. It adds no costume, so if you want the leather look, upload a photo of yourself dressed in black. The MP4 carries the reference clip's sound, which we hold no licence for, so read the note on music before you post.
Grease AI Dance: shot by shot
- 0–2 s
Turn in
The dancer comes in from the side, full body in frame, and turns to face the camera.
- 2–4 s
Toward the lens
Big steps forward with both arms wide, close enough to fill the frame.
- 4–8 s
Rolling arms
Back on the spot, arms roll in front of the chest in time with the music.
- 8–11 s
Hips and shoulders
Hands go to the hips, then shoulder pops and a knee pop.
- 11–13 s
Hands up
Both hands rise over the head and come down around the face.
- 13–15 s
The back kick
One heel kicks up behind as the arms swing out to close the clip.
Tips for a better result
Use a full-body photo
The dancer is in frame from head to heels almost the whole time, so a head-and-shoulders crop leaves the model to invent your legs and shoes.
Dress for the look you want
The video keeps your clothes. Black clothes and red shoes in the photo get you closest to the classic Sandy look.
Keep your face clear
Leave off sunglasses and hats. The step toward the lens brings your face close, and a covered face drifts first.
Two people? Stand side by side
The clip has one dancer. In a photo of two adults, keep both bodies clear and apart; a pair may render, but it is not guaranteed.
Good to know before you make a Grease AI Dance video
- The MP4 carries the reference clip's sound. We hold no licence for any music in it, and Grease songs are commercially released recordings, so a platform may mute or claim it; replacing it with a track from the app's library is the safe way to post, especially for business accounts and ads.
- The hair and clothes are yours. This page does not add the leather jacket, blonde curls or red heels, although some example clips, made with other templates, show that look.
- The dance is built for one person. A photo of two adults may render as a pair, but two separate photos are not supported and the result is not guaranteed.
- You always get this fairground dance, not the film's scenes or characters. Likeness is not guaranteed and this template has not been test-rendered. A failed, timed-out or blocked render returns its credits automatically.
Grease AI Dance: questions
What is the Grease AI dance trend?
The Grease AI dance is a TikTok format in which one photo becomes a 15-second dance at a fairground, moving like the finale of the 1978 film Grease. AI clips captioned this way date from at least March 2026, mostly from a CapCut template. videosi makes the same dance from 1 photo of you, with your own hair and clothes.
How do I make a Grease AI dance video from a photo?
To make a Grease AI dance on videosi, upload 1 full-body photo, choose the model, resolution and 9:16, 1:1 or 16:9, then press Generate. The 15-second dance renders in a few minutes and you write no prompt. You can leave the page, because the result waits in My creations.
Is there a website or generator for the Grease AI dance?
Yes. videosi (videosi.io) is a web tool that makes the Grease AI dance from 1 photo, with no app to install. The moves, the fairground and the prompt are built in. A standard 15-second video (Standard model, 720p) is 13 credits, and the MP4 comes with no watermark.
Is there a Grease AI filter on TikTok or a CapCut template?
There is a CapCut template: TikTok posts from April 2026 name it "Grease AI Dance", and several accounts promote copies, which change often, so check inside the app. We found no native TikTok filter under that name. videosi is independent of TikTok and CapCut; its Grease AI dance is a web tool that gives you a 15-second MP4.
What AI model or prompt makes the Grease AI dance?
The Grease AI dance on videosi is made with ByteDance's Seedance video model (Seedance 2.0 Mini by default; Fast, Pro and Ultra are one click away), from a written replace instruction plus a 15-second dance clip. Doing it yourself usually takes several tries because the original dancer's curls and leather leak through. On videosi both are built in.
How much does the Grease AI dance cost, and is it free?
The Grease AI dance on videosi is not free: there is no free generation and no free trial. A 15-second video is 13 credits on the Standard model at 720p; better models and higher resolutions cost more. Credit packs start at $6.99 for 10 credits and never expire. A failed render returns its credits automatically.
Why did my Grease AI dance come out wrong or not look like me?
The usual causes are a tight face crop, sunglasses or a hat, or a dark and blurry photo. For the videosi Grease AI dance, use a sharp full-body photo with your face to the camera. This 15-second template has not been test-rendered, so likeness is not guaranteed. A failed, timed-out or blocked render returns its credits automatically.
Will I wear Sandy's black leather outfit in the video?
Not automatically. The videosi Grease AI dance keeps the hair and clothes from your 1 photo, so it adds no leather jacket, blonde curls or red heels, although some template clips on this page do show that look. For the Sandy look, upload a photo of yourself already dressed in black.
Can I do the Grease AI dance with my partner or use someone else's photo?
Partly. The clip has 1 dancer, so a single photo of 2 adults side by side may render as a pair, but that is not guaranteed and two separate photos are not supported. Use only photos of adults who agreed to it. videosi does not accept celebrities, public figures or minors, and photos and results are deleted within 30 days.
What does the Grease AI dance mean?
"Grease AI dance" means a video where AI makes someone in a photo dance in the style of the 1978 musical film Grease, usually with a fairground behind them, as in the film's finale. It is a fan homage, not a dance with a set name. videosi renders a 15-second version from one photo.
What song is used in the Grease AI dance?
The reference clip behind the videosi Grease AI dance is captioned "We Go Together", from the 1978 film Grease; we read that from the caption and have not confirmed it independently. Other posts use "You're the One That I Want" or "Summer Nights", so there is no single sound. The 15-second MP4 comes with the reference clip's audio on it.
Is it safe to post the Grease song, or could I get a copyright claim?
It can be claimed. The videosi Grease AI dance MP4 carries the reference clip's audio, and videosi holds no licence for that music, so TikTok or Instagram may mute or claim the post. Replacing it with the app's own licensed version of a Grease song is the safest route, especially for business accounts and ads.
Is the Grease AI dance still trending?
As of October 2026 the Grease AI dance is emerging: AI clips date from March 2026, and a fresh wave of template posts appeared from 25 to 28 October, just before Halloween, when real Sandy and Danny costume videos also circulate. Our radar flagged it on 30 October 2026. videosi has no official numbers for the trend as a whole.
Is this official or connected to the Grease film?
No. videosi is an independent tool with no connection to Paramount, the Grease film or stage show, its cast, TikTok or CapCut. The name describes the style of dance. The videosi Grease AI dance renders your own 15-second video with your own look, not the film's footage or characters.
Can I make the Grease AI dance on my phone?
Yes. videosi runs in the phone browser, so there is no app to install. Open the Grease AI dance page, add 1 photo from your camera roll (HEIC from an iPhone works), press Generate, and download the 15-second MP4 to post on TikTok, Reels or Shorts.
