How it is made

The Toc Toc Dance AI prompt and model

Toc Toc Dance AI is made with Seedance 2.0 / 2.5 (you pick the tier) by ByteDance. The prompt behind it has 5 parts, and the timing is what makes or breaks it.

Model: Seedance 2.0 / 2.5 (you pick the tier)
Mode: Photo + motion reference to video
Length: 11 seconds, 9:16 or 16:9
Input: 1 photo

Identity lock Your photo is the only source for the face, skin tone, age and build, held through hops, turns and the side-on part.
Motion reference A solo Toc Toc clip supplies the hops, knocks, turn and kicks, and nothing else: not the dancer's face, wig or suit.
Scene and look A bare off-white room with a door and a chest of drawers, plus the look you pick: blond bob, white suit or your own clothes.
Timeline Six beats over 11 seconds, from the hop backwards out of the lens to the knock, the profile hops and the arms-open finish.
Rules One person, a face that never smiles, feet that land with shadows, amateur stiffness at normal speed, no captions, no cuts.

How it opens

Photorealistic live-action phone footage, 11 seconds, one continuous take from a phone on a tripod at chest height, the person framed full body…

Why it goes wrong when you do it yourself

Without a motion reference the model invents a smooth generic dance, and the joke is the stiff one-foot hop and the door knock.
Copy the reference too closely and you inherit the dancer's wig and face, so the video stars someone else.
Video models like to make dancers smile; the trend only works if the face stays completely blank.
Each try costs model credits and several minutes, and floating feet or a missing knock ruin the take.

What is the Toc Toc Dance AI trend?

Updated October 27, 2026 · videosi is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, or with the owners of any trend, song, game or brand named on its pages.

The Toc Toc dance is a short, deliberately awkward routine. Someone in a bare room hops on one foot with the other knee up, knocks on an invisible door with a closed fist, turns side-on, kicks, and ends facing the camera with arms flung wide. The face never moves. The deadpan look, often with a blond bob wig and an old tweed or white suit, is half of the joke.

The music is "Toc toc", a 2015 knock-knock party song by the French entertainer Patrick Sébastien, which French internet users nicknamed "Kicékéla" after its chorus. Solo clips set to it were circulating on French TikTok by late September 2026; the earliest we found is dated 28 September. In early October a college hallway version passed 40 million views, and French press reported the dance reaching Germany, the United States, Poland and China.

From mid October the trend turned into an AI trend: tutorials titled "toc toc ai dance" showed how to put any photo into the dance, and French accounts posted "le défi de danse IA original Toc Toc". New AI versions were still appearing on 25 October 2026.

This page does the AI version for you. The choreography comes from a solo reference clip, so you only pick a photo and a look: the blond bob and tweed suit, the white suit and big wig, or your own clothes. Your face stays yours.

Toc Toc Dance AI: shot by shot

0–1 s
Into the lens
You start right up against the camera, straight-faced, then lift a knee and hop backwards into the room.
1–3 s
The knock
Full body in frame, hopping on one foot, and a closed fist knocks twice on a door that is not there.
3–5 s
Deadpan stare
Knee raises on the beat, loose arms, and a stare into the lens that never cracks into a smile.
5–6.5 s
Arms out
Arms open wide and little hops from foot to foot with a shoulder sway.
6.5–9 s
Profile hops
A turn side-on, hops with the back knee bent up behind, a kick and another knock forward.
9–11 s
Ta-da
Back to the camera, arms flung open on the last beat, one last hop and a frozen pose.

Tips for a better result

Show your whole body
The dance is all legs and arms. A face-only crop leaves the model to invent your body, shoes and hands.
Stand straight and relaxed
Arms by your sides or slightly out, not crossed or holding a phone, so the model can move them freely.
Leave the hat and sunglasses off
Anything over your face makes the likeness drift during the turn to profile.
Pick a wig look if your photo is casual
The blond bob and the white suit are what people recognise from the trend; your own clothes work best when they are plain and not baggy.

Good to know before you make a Toc Toc Dance AI video

The room is fixed: a bare off-white room like the solo Toc Toc clips. Your own background is not used.
With the two costume looks the wig and suit replace your hair and clothes; only "My own clothes" keeps them.
Fast hops and turns are where invented detail shows: hands, shoes and hair can shift a little from frame to frame.
The video has the trend's original sound, and likeness is not guaranteed. A failed, timed-out or blocked render returns its credits automatically.
