How it is made
The Cat Clapping AI prompt and model
Cat Clapping AI is made with Seedance 2.0 / 2.5 (you pick the tier) by ByteDance. The prompt behind it has 5 parts, and the timing is what makes or breaks it.
- Model
- Seedance 2.0 / 2.5 (you pick the tier)
- Mode
- Photo + motion reference to video
- Length
- 7 seconds, 9:16, 1:1 or 16:9
- Input
- 1 photo
- Identity lock Your photo is the only source for the pet's species, breed, face, eye colour, fur and markings, kept identical in every frame.
- Motion reference The original 7-second clip supplies the standing pose, the clap rhythm, the shush and the low floor-level camera, and nothing else.
- Scene Your pet's own room from the photo when it shows, otherwise a plain tiled floor in soft daylight, with no people.
- Timeline Four beats: grinning loud claps, the shush, tiny silent claps, then a paw reaching for the lens.
- Rules The grin only in the first 2.5 seconds, one animal, no human hands in frame, no text or logos, no cuts.
Photorealistic live-action phone footage, 7 seconds, one continuous static shot from a low angle near floor level, looking slightly up at the animal. Image 1 is the only source…
Why it goes wrong when you do it yourself
- Without an identity lock the model turns your pet into a black cat, because that is the cat in every clapping clip it has seen.
- The human grin either never appears or never leaves; the joke needs it for the first 2.5 seconds only.
- Ask for claps without a motion reference and you get a cat waving its paws at random, with no shush and no quiet claps.
- Each try costs model credits and several minutes, and the human-like arms often grow extra fingers or merge mid-clap.

How to make your Cat Clapping AI video
Upload one photo of your pet
A sharp, well-lit photo with the face, both ears and ideally the front legs in view. A cat sitting up or standing works best; dogs work too.
Pick a format
Choose 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, 1:1 or 16:9. The room in your photo becomes the room in the video.
Generate and download
Press Generate and the 7-second clapping clip is rendered for you, an MP4 with the trend's original sound and no watermark.
Post it
Post it with the AI-generated label on; the clapping sound is already on the clip, and you can swap it on TikTok if you like.
What is the Cat Clapping AI trend?
Updated · videosi is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, or with the owners of any trend, song, game or brand named on its pages.
The clapping cat meme, also called the black cat clapping meme, is a 7-second clip of a black cat standing on its hind legs on a tiled floor. For two seconds it claps like an overexcited person, arms flung wide, with a wide human grin full of teeth. Then the grin drops, the cat ducks as if someone has shushed it, and it keeps clapping in tiny silent taps with one paw at its mouth before reaching a long arm toward the camera.
The cat is not real. The clip is AI-generated, which is why its arms bend like a person's. The earliest post we found on TikTok is dated 29 September 2026, and a green screen version went up a day later; who made the first one is unconfirmed. Through October people pasted the cat into classrooms, bedrooms and hospital rooms with captions about almost waking someone up, two of those remakes passed 10 million views, and the cat even became a Halloween costume.
The next step was obvious: make your own pet do it. AI remakes with ginger, white and tuxedo cats followed, and template accounts started offering an upload-a-photo version.
This page does that for you. Upload one photo of your cat, or your dog, and videosi renders the 7-second grin, clap, shush and quiet clap with your pet's own face, fur and markings.
Cat Clapping AI: shot by shot
- 0–2.5 s
The loud clap
Your cat stands up on its hind legs with a wide human grin and claps like a person, arms flung wide, three or four big proud claps.
- 2.5–3.3 s
Shushed
The grin vanishes at once. Your cat ducks its head and folds its ears back, as if someone just told it to be quiet.
- 3.3–5 s
The quiet clap
One paw goes up to its mouth and the other taps against it in tiny silent claps, with a guilty look up at the camera.
- 5–7 s
The reach
A long front leg stretches out toward the lens, paw open, and your cat stares straight into the camera until the end.
Tips for a better result
Show the face and front legs
The whole clip is a face and two front legs. A photo where your cat sits up or stands gives the model real legs to work with; a curled-up cat leaves it guessing.
One pet per photo
If two cats or a cat and a dog share the picture, the model may merge them. Crop to the one you want clapping.
Sharp fur, soft light
Daylight from a window works best. Stripes, a white chest, socks or odd-coloured eyes are what make the clapper recognisably yours, so keep them in focus.
Mind the background
The room in your photo becomes the stage. A tidy floor or sofa reads well; a cluttered background or people in the shot can turn up in the video.
Good to know before you make a Cat Clapping AI video
- Likeness is not guaranteed: long-haired cats and dogs with long snouts drift the most, especially during the grin.
- Your pet always stands up and claps with human-like arms. It is a meme, not a picture of how your pet really moves.
- Hands and paws are where AI detail fails first: extra toes or merged paws can appear during the fastest claps.
- The video comes with the trend's original sound already on it. A failed, timed-out or blocked render returns its credits automatically.
Cat Clapping AI: questions
What is the clapping cat meme?
The clapping cat meme is a 7-second clip, made on videosi from one pet photo, in which a cat stands on its hind legs, claps like a person with a creepy human grin, gets shushed, then claps in tiny silent taps. The original is an AI-generated black cat, and since late September 2026 people have dropped it into classrooms, bedrooms and their own pets.
Where did the clapping cat meme come from, and where is the original video?
The clapping cat meme went around TikTok from late September 2026; the earliest post we found is dated 29 September, and a green screen version followed on 30 September. Both show the same AI black cat on a tiled floor. Who made the first clip is unconfirmed. videosi recreates the 7-second motion with your own pet instead of that cat.
How do I make the clapping cat meme with my own cat?
Upload one photo of your cat to videosi, choose 9:16, 1:1 or 16:9 and press Generate. The cat clapping AI video is 7 seconds long and you write no prompt: the grin, the loud claps, the shush and the quiet claps are built in, in your cat's own room when it shows in the photo. Rendering takes several minutes and the result is saved in My creations.
Is there a cat clapping AI generator or website?
Yes. videosi (videosi.io) is a web tool that makes the cat clapping AI video from one photo of your pet. The motion, the camera and the prompt are built in, so you only choose the photo and the format. A standard 7-second video (Standard model, 720p) is 6 credits, and the MP4 has no watermark.
Is there a black cat clapping filter or green screen?
The black cat clapping meme mostly spreads as a green screen clip of the AI black cat and as CapCut templates and AR effects, and those change often, so check inside TikTok or CapCut. videosi is independent and not affiliated with any of them. Instead of pasting the black cat in, videosi makes a new 7-second clip in which your own pet does the clapping.
What does the black cat clapping meme mean?
The black cat clapping meme is a joke about being too loud: in the 7-second clip the cat claps wildly with a grin, gets shushed, and keeps clapping silently with a guilty face. People post it as sarcastic applause, a hype reaction or with captions about almost waking someone up. videosi keeps that same loud then quiet timing with your pet.
