Is the AI Thanksgiving trend still trending, and when is Thanksgiving 2026?

US Thanksgiving 2026 is on Thursday 26 November, and Canadian Thanksgiving was on 12 October. As of late October 2026 the AI Thanksgiving trend is only just starting, with new TikTok templates posted since 13 October. Can I make the Thanksgiving toast with ChatGPT, Gemini, Sora or Kling instead?

You can try, but a general model needs a motion reference for the pour and toast, an identity lock that keeps your face sharp behind the cup, and rules that stop extra relatives appearing, and each try costs time and credits. videosi has these built into the AI Thanksgiving video page, so one photo gives a 5-second result. Label AI videos as AI when you post them.

How it is made

The AI Thanksgiving Video prompt and model

AI Thanksgiving Video is made with Seedance 2.0 / 2.5 (you pick the tier) by ByteDance. The prompt behind it has 5 parts, and the timing is what makes or breaks it.

Model: Seedance 2.0 / 2.5 (you pick the tier)
Mode: Photo + motion reference to video
Length: 5 seconds, 9:16, 1:1 or 16:9
Input: 1 photo

Identity lock Your photo is the only source for the face, hair, build and clothes, and the face has to stay sharp when the cup comes toward the lens.
Motion reference A silent clip of the Thanksgiving dinner toast template gives the pour, the sip, the smile and the toast to camera, and nothing else.
Scene One of three fixed settings written out object by object: a candle-lit feast table, a fireside with pumpkins, or an autumn front porch.
Timeline Four beats over 5 seconds: the pour, the sip, the smile, the toast with a slow push-in.
Rules One person, only a hand pouring, food that stays still, a warm family tone with no costumes or characters, no text and no cuts.

How it opens

Photorealistic cinematic footage, 5 seconds, one continuous shot from a locked-off camera at waist height in a medium shot that pushes in gently at the end.…

Why it goes wrong when you do it yourself

Ask a video model for "a Thanksgiving dinner" and it fills the table with relatives: extra faces appear and sometimes take over the frame, so the rules have to keep one person and only a pouring hand.
When the cup comes toward the lens the model often refocuses on the cup and the face turns soft or changes; the identity lock has to say the face stays sharp behind it.
Without a motion reference the person either freezes like a still photo or drinks in a loop; the pour, sip, smile and toast are what make five seconds feel like a greeting.
Holiday words pull in costumes, pilgrim hats, turkey mascots and "Happy Thanksgiving" lettering that spells itself wrong; each try costs credits and minutes, so the exclusions are written in up front.

What is the AI Thanksgiving Video trend?

Updated October 27, 2026 · videosi is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, or with the owners of any trend, song, game or brand named on its pages.

An AI Thanksgiving video is a short holiday clip made from one ordinary photo. The version people share most is a CapCut AI template sometimes posted as "Autumn Dinner": you sit at a candle-lit Thanksgiving table with a roast turkey, pumpkin pie and autumn wreaths, a hand pours you a coffee, you take a sip and then raise the cup toward the camera as a toast to whoever is watching. It works as a moving Thanksgiving card for a family group chat or a WhatsApp status.

The format comes from the 2025 season. In November 2025 TikTok filled with AI Thanksgiving photoshoots made with Gemini prompts (one Spanish-language post from 1 November 2025 passed about 40,000 views) and with one-photo CapCut templates: the dinner toast, a selfie that turns into a fireside portrait, a giant roast turkey chasing you down the street. The dinner toast template was being described as "a woman seated at a Thanksgiving dinner" by 21 November 2025.

For 2026 the wave has only just started. New Thanksgiving AI templates have been appearing on TikTok since 13 October 2026, including an AI pet card on 22 October and a "grandma made you a plate" clip on 23 October. US Thanksgiving falls on Thursday 26 November 2026; Canadian Thanksgiving was on 12 October 2026.

On videosi you upload one photo of yourself and pick a scene: the candle-lit feast table, a fireside with pumpkins, or an autumn front porch. A reference clip of the template sets the timing; your face, hair and clothes come from your photo. The video comes with the template's original sound already on it, so the toast lands with the music; you can swap it when you post.

AI Thanksgiving Video: shot by shot

0–1 s
The pour
You sit at the table holding a cup; a hand reaches in from the side and pours hot coffee, steam rising.
1–2.5 s
The sip
You lift the cup and take a slow sip, eyes half closed.
2.5–3.5 s
The smile
You lower the cup, look straight into the lens and smile.
3.5–5 s
The toast
You stretch the cup toward the camera as a toast while the camera pushes in slowly.

Tips for a better result

Waist up, facing the camera
The toast is aimed at the viewer, so a photo where you look into the lens keeps the eye contact; side profiles lose it.
Wear something for dinner
Your clothes are kept exactly as they are in the photo. A sweater, a dress or a nice shirt looks right at a feast table; a gym top looks out of place.
Only you in the frame
The clip has one person. Crop group photos down to one face before uploading, or make one clip per family member.
Clear face, even light
No sunglasses, heavy filters or strong shadows. The table, candles and autumn decorations are added by the scene, so the background of your photo does not matter.

Good to know before you make a AI Thanksgiving Video video

The clip is 5 seconds long and comes with the template's original sound on it.
One person per video. Family group photos are not animated together on this page.
The feast, fireplace and porch are fixed descriptions, so the dishes, candles and decorations vary from render to render.
Likeness is not guaranteed. A failed, timed-out or blocked render returns its credits automatically.
